The 997.1 Turbo Cabriolet represents Porsche's brief but brilliant take on open-air turbocharged motoring. Built for just two model years, this convertible paired the legendary 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six producing 480 horsepower with a sophisticated soft-top that could disappear in 20 seconds. The all-wheel-drive system and Porsche Stability Management made the 911 Turbo's prodigious power accessible even with the top down, while the wider rear fenders and distinctive side air intakes announced its forced-induction pedigree. With only around 3,000 examples produced globally, the 997.1 Turbo Cabriolet is significantly rarer than its coupe sibling. Today, collectors appreciate its position as the last naturally-aspirated-era Turbo convertible before the 997.2's introduction of direct injection.
