About the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
The ultimate expression of Ford's S550 Mustang platform, this GT500 redefined American muscle with its hand-built 5.2L Predator V8. At 760 horsepower, it became the most powerful street-legal Ford ever produced, capable of sub-11-second quarter-miles straight from the showroom. The cross-plane crank design delivered tractable power, while the Tremec dual-clutch transmission marked Ford's first DCT application in a Mustang. Carbon Track Package cars featured aggressive aero and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for serious track capability. Limited to three model years, production numbers remain relatively low, especially for Carbon Track and Carbon Fiber Track Package variants. These represent the pinnacle of internal combustion Mustang performance before electrification, making them instant collectibles.
