About the 1993 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

The fourth-generation Trans Am represents the final chapter of Pontiac's legendary F-body, delivering genuine supercar performance at muscle car prices. Built from 1993-2002, these cars featured the potent LT1 small-block through 1997, then the all-aluminum LS1 from 1998 onward, the same engine powering the C5 Corvette. The LS1 cars are particularly coveted, producing 320-345 horsepower and capable of sub-13-second quarter miles stock. Ram Air equipped WS6 models from 1998-2002 stand as the ultimate expression, with functional hood scoops and aggressive aero. Only 25,141 Trans Ams were built in the final 2002 model year, making them increasingly collectible. While overshadowed by their 1960s-70s predecessors, these modern Trans Ams offer exceptional performance per dollar and represent the end of an era for American muscle.
