About the 1982 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole
The 308 GTS Quattrovalvole combined the targa's open-air appeal with the final evolution of the 308 platform. Despite lower peak power than earlier carbureted models, the QV's fuel injection and four-valve heads delivered superior real-world performance and reliability. The 3,042 production run makes it more common than the GTB QV, but still represents the culmination of 308 development. European examples retain the most desirable specifications, avoiding US market compromises that dulled performance. The GTS QV benefits from improved build quality and refinement learned over the 308's production run, making it arguably the best-driving variant. Market values have risen steadily as collectors recognize the QV's significance as the last 308 and appreciate its improved dynamics. These final 308s offer the most mature expression of Pininfarina's timeless design.
