About the 1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra

Ford's Special Vehicle Team transformed the humble Mustang into a legitimate sports car with the SVT Cobra, running from 1993-2004 with a brief hiatus. The early 4.6L DOHC V8 produced 240hp, but the real magic happened in 1996 with the Mystic Cobra's color-changing paint, just 1,999 were built. The 1999-2001 models disappointed with underrated power claims, leading Ford to compensate buyers. However, the 2003-04 Terminator Cobra redeemed the nameplate spectacularly, packing a supercharged 4.6L V8 making 390hp and capable of sub-13-second quarter miles stock. These final SVT Cobras, especially convertibles and 10th Anniversary editions, have become blue-chip collectibles.
