The TR3A represents the most refined and popular of the early TR models, with 58,236 units produced making it the most successful pre-TR4 Triumph. The improved 2.0-liter engine delivered 100 hp and a 10.2-second 0-60 time, while detail improvements enhanced reliability and comfort without compromising the essential TR character. Built from 1957-1962, the TR3A benefited from years of development, resulting in the most sorted early TR driving experience. The wider grille and other styling updates distinguished it from the earlier TR3, while mechanical improvements included a stronger transmission and better electrical system. Today, the TR3A offers the best combination of classic TR character, reasonable pricing, and parts availability in the early TR range. Its higher production numbers mean finding good examples is more realistic than with TR2s or TR3s, making it an excellent entry point into early Triumph ownership while still appreciating steadily in value.
