About the 2005 Mercedes-Benz G-Class G55 Kompressor
The G 55 AMG Kompressor is the supercharged version of the AMG G, built from 2005 to 2012. It has a 5.4L supercharged V8. Power rose during the run, from 469 hp in 2005 to 500 hp by 2008, so one figure would mislead. Top speed is limited to 130 mph. It is faster than the naturally aspirated G 55 and sits below the later twin turbo G 63. Collectors look for the later 500 hp cars, complete records and clean paint. Check the supercharger, the transmission and the suspension bushings. Look for rust and electrical faults. Original, unmodified cars with service history stand out.
