About the 1979 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Cabriolet

The W460 Cabriolet is the soft top, short wheelbase version of the first G-Class. It was built in Graz, Austria. Engines varied by market and year, so no single engine applies. A limited Italian market 200 GE Cabriolet was built, with 64 units. Collectors check the top frame, the fabric, the seals and the rust at the windshield base. A soft top G has less body rigidity, so check door fit and frame condition closely. Original top material and correct trim are hard to find.
