About the 1998 Mercedes-Benz G-Class G500 Brabus 5.8
The Brabus 5.8 package turned the W463 G 500 into a much faster truck. Brabus bored the 5.0 liter V8 out to 5.8 liters. That work used a new block and a new crankshaft. A dealer listing gives 400 horsepower, which works out to about 395 mechanical horsepower. An automatic gearbox and permanent four wheel drive stay. No build count is published. Collectors want it as an early Brabus G with a big V8 and no turbo. When buying, ask for the Brabus invoice, the engine number and any Brabus certificate. A stock G 500 with Brabus wheels is not a 5.8, so confirm the engine capacity.
