The A70 Supra marked Toyota's bold departure from Celica roots, establishing itself as a legitimate grand tourer. Built on its own platform from 1986, the third-generation Supra combined Japanese reliability with serious performance credentials. The naturally aspirated 3.0-liter 7M-GE produced 200 horsepower, while the turbocharged 7M-GTE delivered 230 hp and genuine supercar acceleration. What collectors appreciate most is the A70's perfect balance of everyday usability and weekend canyon carving ability. The long hood, pop-up headlights, and distinctive fastback profile created an unmistakably '80s aesthetic that's aged remarkably well.
