About the 1973 De Tomaso Pantera GTS
The GTS evolved the Pantera formula with wider fender flares, improved aerodynamics, and significantly more power from the 351 Cleveland V8. Producing 350 horsepower and capable of 160 mph, the GTS delivered supercar performance at a fraction of Ferrari prices throughout its extended 1973-1991 production run. The wider track and improved suspension addressed many of the early Pantera's handling quirks, while the aggressive bodywork gave it unmistakable presence. European-market cars often featured even higher power outputs and fewer emissions restrictions. The GTS represents the sweet spot of Pantera evolution, more refined than early cars but retaining the raw character that defined the breed. Today's collectors prize well-maintained examples, particularly those with documented histories and matching numbers powertrains.
