About the 2012 Aston Martin Vanquish Coupe
The second-generation Vanquish marked Aston Martin's bold return to flagship territory, replacing the aging DBS with Marek Reichman's stunning carbon fiber bodywork. Built around the VH platform's final evolution, this hand-built GT packed AM's naturally aspirated 5.9-liter V12 producing 565 horsepower, paired with a Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic, controversial among purists but undeniably effective. The carbon fiber monocoque construction kept weight reasonable while delivering exceptional rigidity. Production totaled just 2,704 coupes across six years, making it relatively exclusive compared to DB9 volumes. The Vanquish bridged Aston's traditional craftsmanship with modern performance, achieving 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and 183 mph flat-out. Today's collectors appreciate the last of the naturally aspirated flagship Astons before turbocharging arrived with the DB11. Clean examples with full service histories command strong money, particularly in desirable specifications like the Carbon Black or Carbon White editions.
