About the 2009 Aston Martin DBS Volante
The DBS Volante represents Aston Martin's most potent convertible of the late 2000s, essentially a topless version of the brutal DBS coupe. Under the carbon fiber hood sits the same hand-built 6.0-liter V12 producing 510 horsepower, launching this elegant brute to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. The folding fabric roof maintains the DBS's aggressive stance while offering open-air thrills that few grand tourers could match. Built on the VH platform shared with the DB9, the DBS Volante featured extensive carbon bodywork, adaptive damping, and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. With only 1,329 examples produced during its four-year run, it's notably rarer than the coupe. Today, clean examples command strong prices among collectors who appreciate its position as the last naturally aspirated V12 Aston convertible before the marque's turbo transition.
