Launched in 1969 with a 5.3-liter V8 producing 315 horsepower, it could embarrass contemporary Ferraris with sub-6-second 0-60 times and a 160+ mph top speed. The hand-built Newport Pagnell construction meant each car was subtly unique, with Weber carburetors giving way to fuel injection in later years.
