About the 2006 Cadillac DeVille
The final-generation DeVille represents Cadillac's last hurrah for traditional American luxury before the brand's complete transformation. Built on GM's G-platform, these 2006-2011 models featured the refined Northstar 4.6L V8 producing 275 horsepower, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. While not exactly a sports car despite the classification, the DeVille offered surprising handling dynamics thanks to its fully independent suspension and electronic stability control. The interior showcased genuine wood trim and leather appointments that harked back to Cadillac's glory days. Production ended in 2011 as Cadillac shifted focus to the CTS and XTS. Today, these represent an interesting collecting proposition, the end of an era when Cadillac still built traditional full-size sedans. Clean, low-mileage examples are increasingly sought after by enthusiasts who appreciate old-school American luxury craftsmanship before the brand went fully European in character.
