About the 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R
The R34 GT-R stands as the ultimate expression of Nissan's legendary Skyline lineage, combining the RB26DETT's proven performance with the most advanced electronics of its era. Hiroshi Tamura's design perfectly balanced aggression with elegance, creating what many consider the most beautiful GT-R ever built. With only 11,344 units produced, the R34 is the rarest of the modern Skylines. The refined RB26DETT produced 276 horsepower officially, though real output was closer to 320. Advanced systems like ATTESA E-TS Pro and Super HICAS created unprecedented capability, while the legendary MFD display became an icon itself. Paul Walker's Fast & Furious connection elevated the R34 to pop culture legend status. As 25-year-rule cars enter the US market, prices have reached stratospheric levels, with clean examples commanding six-figure sums and showing no signs of slowing.
