About the 1971 Jensen Interceptor 440

The Jensen Interceptor 440 represents the perfect marriage of Italian style and American muscle. Vignale's gorgeous coupe bodywork wrapped around Chrysler's legendary 440 cubic-inch V8, creating one of the most distinctive grand tourers of the early '70s. With 385 horsepower on tap, the Interceptor could embarrass many sports cars while offering genuine four-seat comfort and a massive hatchback. The 440 variant, produced from 1971-1976, was the sweet spot of the range, more powerful than the 383 but more reliable than the later 360. Only 4,604 examples were built at Jensen's West Bromwich facility, making survivors increasingly sought-after. The combination of rarity, striking looks, and that intoxicating V8 rumble has made clean Interceptors serious appreciating assets in today's collector market.
