Jaguar launched the F-Type as a convertible in 2013. It was the company's first two-seat sports car in almost 40 years. The coupe made its debut the following year.
The V6 versions made 335 bhp or 375 bhp. The F-Type R used a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 rated at 542 bhp. Jaguar later added a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, its first gasoline four-cylinder since 1935. The SVR raised the V8 to 575 hp and claimed a top speed of 322 km/h (200 mph).
After six years on sale, the F-Type was facelifted for 2020. The new car had slim headlights and a clamshell hood. Jaguar dropped the supercharged V6. The range then ran from a 300 hp four-cylinder to a 575 hp V8 in the R.
In June 2024 Jaguar announced the final F-Type, built at Castle Bromwich. It was a 5.0-liter V8 convertible in Giola Green. Jaguar had built 87,731 F-Types. The company said it would become an all-electric luxury brand by 2025.
