Common questions

How much does a RUF Turbo R Coupe cost?

Across every sale we have on file, 6 have sold publicly at a median of $1,099,500. The Shifty Estimate for a well-kept example is $1,435,000. Cars have changed hands anywhere from $1,076,250 to $1,793,750, depending on mileage, color, and history.

What is a 1998 RUF Turbo R Coupe worth today?

The Shifty Estimate is $1,435,000. That sits above the $1,099,500 median of actual sales because the median counts every car that sold, including high-mileage examples, while the estimate describes a clean, low-mileage one bought today. We rate confidence low: 6 public sales in a year is not enough to be firm, and the honest range is wide. Treat it as a starting point, not a valuation.

About the 1998 RUF Turbo R Coupe

RUF's Turbo R represents the Pfaffenhausen tuner's most refined interpretation of the 993-generation 911 Turbo. Built between 1998-2002, this wasn't just a modified Porsche, RUF's manufacturer status meant each car received its own VIN and comprehensive re-engineering. The heart was RUF's own twin-turbocharged flat-six producing around 490 horsepower, paired with their sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and six-speed manual transmission. Unlike the more extreme CTR models, the Turbo R balanced extreme performance with daily usability, featuring RUF's signature aero package and distinctive five-spoke wheels. Production was extremely limited, with fewer than 50 examples believed built across the four-year run. Today, these represent some of the most desirable RUF models, combining the last of the air-cooled era with RUF's legendary engineering prowess. Values have climbed significantly as collectors recognize the Turbo R as perhaps the ultimate expression of the 993 platform.
