About the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
The C7 Stingray marked Corvette's renaissance after the disappointing C6 base model. Tom Peters' angular design language brought modern aggression to the classic Corvette formula, while the LT1 6.2-liter V8 delivered 455 naturally aspirated horsepower, proving GM could still build thrilling engines without forced induction. The optional 7-speed manual transmission became a purist favorite, offering perfect gear spacing for both street and track. Magnetic Ride Control and sophisticated chassis tuning made the C7 the most refined Corvette yet, capable of genuine supercar performance with everyday usability. The Z51 Performance Package transformed it into a track weapon that could lap the Nürburgring in under 7:30. As the final front-engine Corvette generation, C7s are gaining collector interest, particularly Grand Sports and manual-transmission models.
