About the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette
The C7 Corvette marked a dramatic renaissance for America's sports car, delivering supercar performance at a fraction of the price. Built on an all-new aluminum spaceframe, the seventh-generation 'Vette featured aggressive styling by Tom Peters that finally looked the part of its capabilities. The naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT1 V8 produced 455-460 horsepower depending on year, launching the base model to 60 mph in under 4 seconds. The available 8-speed automatic was a revelation, while purists could still opt for the 7-speed manual. Interior quality took a quantum leap with real leather and carbon fiber accents. Production totaled roughly 185,000 units across the six-year run. Today's collectors appreciate the C7 as the last of the front-engine Corvettes and the final naturally aspirated base model. Clean examples with low miles and desirable options like the Z51 performance package are increasingly sought after as the C8 mid-engine revolution continues.
