About the 2011 Porsche Cayman R

The Cayman R stripped away luxury to reveal Porsche's mid-engine chassis at its purest. With 330 hp from the 3.4-liter flat-six, it matched the contemporary 911 Carrera's output while weighing 121 pounds less than a standard Cayman S. Alcantara replaced leather, while lightweight wheels, ceramic brakes, and a sport exhaust emphasized function over form. The R's aggressive suspension tuning and limited-slip differential created handling dynamics that many considered superior to the 911 of its era. Production was deliberately limited across just two model years, making it significantly rarer than regular Caymans.
