About the 2010 Porsche Boxster Spyder
The original 987-platform Boxster Spyder established the template for Porsche's hardcore roadster formula. Featuring a 320-hp 3.4-liter flat-six and stripped-down philosophy, it deleted creature comforts like air conditioning and radio in favor of weight savings and track focus. The manual-only soft-top and aggressive aerodynamics distinguished it from standard Boxsters, while the naturally aspirated engine delivered the pure sound collectors now crave. Production numbers were deliberately limited, making it significantly rarer than regular Boxsters. This first Spyder proved that Porsche could create a focused, lightweight sports car without resorting to forced induction.
