The second-generation Exige represents Lotus at its purest, a track-focused weapon that distills Colin Chapman's 'simplify and add lightness' philosophy into 1,940 pounds of carbon fiber and aluminum. Built on the same bonded aluminum chassis as the Elise, the Exige adds a fixed roof and aggressive aerodynamics that generate real downforce at speed. The Toyota-sourced 1.8-liter 2ZZ-GE engine produces 190hp in naturally aspirated form, enough to rocket this featherweight to 60mph in 4.1 seconds. What makes collectors take notice isn't just the performance, it's the analog purity. No power steering, no ABS initially, just you and 240 section Yokohamas connecting directly to the tarmac.
