The Lotus Exige was built from 2000 to 2021.

The S2 S, the most traded version: The Exige S introduced forced induction to the lightweight Lotus formula, and the results were revelatory. By supercharging the Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine, Lotus extracted 218 horsepower while maintaining the car's featherweight character. The additional torque transformed the driving experience, providing more accessible performance without sacrificing the razor-sharp handling that made the Exige legendary. Russell Carr's subtle design updates included functional aerodynamic elements and improved cooling. The S model bridged the gap between the naturally-aspirated purity of earlier cars and the high-output variants that followed. For collectors, the Exige S represents an important evolutionary step in Lotus history—the first successful marriage of forced induction with the company's lightweight philosophy. Clean examples are increasingly sought after as the last of the smaller-displacement supercharged Exiges.
