About the 1979 Mercedes-Benz G-Class 200GE
The 200 GE is the smallest gasoline car in the W460 line. It was an Italy only model, built from 1986 to 1991. It has a 2.0L four cylinder making 116 hp. The factory 0 to 62 mph time is 18 seconds, and top speed is 87 mph. Nobody buys one for speed. Collectors want it as a rare market variant of the early G. Look for a straight frame, dry floors and original Italian paperwork. An open version was also built in Italy, with 64 units. Compare it with the 230 GE, which sold in larger numbers and shares most of the body.
