About the 1977 Aston Martin Vantage Coupe

The V8 Vantage represents Aston Martin's most muscular expression of the 1970s and 80s, earning its 'Britain's first supercar' reputation through sheer brute force. Built around the company's hand-assembled 5.3-liter V8 producing around 390 horsepower, this was the fastest production car in the world when launched in 1977, capable of 170+ mph. The aggressive bodywork, with its distinctive blanked-off grille and flared wheel arches, housed Pirelli P7 tires that were the widest available at the time. Only 534 examples were produced over its 12-year run, making it significantly rarer than contemporary Ferraris or Lamborghinis. The hand-built nature means each car has subtle differences, adding to their character. Today's collectors prize original examples, particularly early cars with the coveted Weber carburetors. Values have surged as enthusiasts recognize the Vantage as the last of the truly analog supercars.
