About the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible

The C3 Stingray convertible stretched Larry Shinoda's stunning design across eight model years, becoming the longest-running Corvette generation. While purists debate the C3's merits against the earlier C2, there's no denying the visual impact of those flared fenders and dramatic proportions. Early cars retained much of the C2's performance DNA with solid-lifter small blocks and available big blocks, though emissions regulations gradually neutered power outputs through the mid-1970s. The removable T-tops introduced in 1968 offered a compromise between coupe and convertible, but true drop-top enthusiasts preferred the full convertible experience. Today, early C3 convertibles with big blocks command strong money, while later cars offer more affordable entry into classic Corvette ownership. The C3 represents Corvette's transition from pure sports car to grand touring machine.
