The Toyota Supra A60 was built from 1982 to 1986.
The Supra, the most traded version: The A60 Supra marked Toyota's bold entry into serious sports car territory, breaking away from the Celica nameplate to establish its own identity. Built on a longer wheelbase than its Celica sibling, the first-generation Supra featured Toyota's robust 2.8-liter 5M-GE inline-six producing 145 horsepower, paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. The independent rear suspension was revolutionary for Toyota at the time, delivering genuine sports car handling dynamics. While often overshadowed by its turbocharged successors, these early Supras are increasingly appreciated by collectors for their pure, naturally-aspirated character and clean 1980s design language. The digital dashboard and pop-up headlights epitomize the era's technological optimism. Clean examples are becoming harder to find, making well-maintained A60s attractive to enthusiasts seeking an affordable entry into Supra ownership before values climb further.
