Ferrari unveiled the F8 Tributo at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It replaced the 488 GTB, which was retired for the show. The twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 made 720 hp, which was 50 hp more than the 488 GTB made. Motor1 reported 0 to 62 mph in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. Ferrari calls the name an homage to the most powerful V8 in its history. The front S-Duct came from the 488 Pista. A rear window with three louvers recalled the F40.
The F8 Spider followed in September 2019. Ferrari traces its open-roof V8 cars to the 308 GTS of 1977. The F8 Spider replaced the 488 Spider. It used a retractable hard top that takes 14 seconds to deploy.
Ferrari ended orders for the Tributo coupe, and all 2023 models were Spiders. The 296 GTB arrived in 2021 with a plug-in hybrid V6. Motor Authority named it the F8's successor.
