How much does a BMW M3 Lightweight cost?
A 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight cost $50,000 new. Over the past 12 months, 2 have sold publicly at a median of $214,300. The Shifty Estimate for a well-kept example is $179,200. Cars have changed hands anywhere from $134,400 to $224,000, depending on mileage, color, and history.
What is a 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight worth today?
The Shifty Estimate is $179,200. That sits below the $214,300 median of actual sales because the estimate weights the most recent results most heavily, and recent sales have come in under the longer-run median. We rate confidence low: 2 public sales in a year is not enough to be firm, and the honest range is wide. Treat it as a starting point, not a valuation.

About the 1995 BMW M3 Lightweight
The E36 M3 Lightweight represents BMW M's purist philosophy taken to its logical extreme. With only 126 units produced for the U.S. market, this stripped-down special deleted air conditioning, power steering, rear seats, and sound deadening while adding a strut tower brace and lightweight wheels. The naturally aspirated 3.0-liter S50 inline-six produced 240 horsepower, channeled through a close-ratio five-speed manual. Aluminum doors, hood, and suspension components further reduced weight. These cars were built for track enthusiasts who prioritized handling over comfort. Today, clean Lightweights command premium prices, representing the last time BMW offered such a focused, weight-conscious M3. Their extreme rarity and uncompromising nature make them highly coveted among serious collectors.
