The 370Z marked Nissan's bold return to serious sports car territory after the bloated 350Z years. Built on a shortened platform with aggressive proportions, the Z34 generation delivered what enthusiasts had been craving: a proper driver's car. The naturally-aspirated 3.7-liter VQ37VHR V6 produced 332hp initially, later bumped to 350hp, paired with either a slick 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic. Weight distribution hit a near-perfect 53/47 front-rear split. The chassis, tuned by engineers who clearly understood the Z's heritage, offered genuine feedback through the steering wheel. Production ended in 2020 after 12 years, making clean, low-mileage examples increasingly sought after. The manual transmission cars, particularly Sport and Nismo variants, are already showing collector interest. As the last of the naturally-aspirated Z-cars before turbocharging arrived, the 370Z represents the end of an era in affordable Japanese sports cars.
