About the 1973 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB

The 365 GT4 BB introduced Ferrari's revolutionary Berlinetta Boxer concept, the first mid-engine 12-cylinder road car from Maranello. The flat-12 engine, derived from Ferrari's Formula 1 program, produces 380 horsepower while maintaining a low center of gravity. Pininfarina's wedge-shaped design broke completely from Ferrari tradition, establishing the template for all future mid-engine V12s. Only 387 examples were built before the 512 BB's arrival, making it the rarest Boxer variant. The 188 mph top speed made it the world's fastest production car when launched. Early Boxers suffered from carburetion issues and challenging ergonomics, but driving dynamics were revolutionary. Values have appreciated dramatically as collectors recognize the GT4 BB's historical significance, it launched Ferrari's modern supercar era.
