The Morgan Plus 8 represents one of motoring's most delightful anachronisms—a traditional British roadster powered by Rover's lightweight aluminum V8. Introduced in 1968, this unlikely combination of ash-framed bodywork and American muscle created a car that could embarrass Porsches while maintaining Morgan's pre-war aesthetic. The 3.5-liter V8 transformed the marque's performance credentials, delivering genuine 125mph capability in a package weighing just 2,100 pounds. Later variants received the 3.9 and 4.0-liter engines, with the final examples producing nearly 200hp. Hand-built at Malvern Link using techniques unchanged since the 1930s, each Plus 8 required months to complete. The 36-year production run yielded fewer than 6,000 examples, making survivors increasingly coveted.
