The MG MGA Twin Cam was built from 1958 to 1960.
The Roadster, the most traded version: The MGA Twin Cam represents one of Britain's most ambitious attempts at high-performance motoring in the late 1950s. With just 2,111 examples produced, this rare variant features a sophisticated DOHC 1.6-liter engine producing 108 horsepower – a remarkable output for its era. The twin-cam's 9.1-second sprint to 60 mph and 114 mph top speed made it genuinely quick by period standards, though the complex engine proved temperamental in everyday use. Today's collectors prize Twin Cams for their rarity, advanced engineering, and connection to MG's competition heritage. The combination of limited production numbers, period racing success, and distinctive Dunlop disc brakes makes this one of the most desirable MGAs. Values reflect the car's significance as both a technological milestone and a rare piece of British automotive history.
