The Mercedes-Benz M-Class W163 was built from 1997 to 2005.
The ML430 Brabus 5.8, the most traded version: The Brabus ML 5.8, also called the ML 58, started as a Mercedes ML 430 from around 2001. Brabus enlarged the 4.3 liter V8 to 5.8 liters. Sources quote 400 horsepower, which is metric, so about 395 mechanical horsepower. Torque is 579 Nm, about 427 pound feet. A spec site lists 0 to 60 in about 6.2 seconds and a top speed near 149 mph. A dealer listing says Brabus North America built these conversions from 2001 to 2003. Collectors like it as a rare early performance SUV. When buying, ask for the Brabus invoice, the engine number and the Brabus plate. A stock ML 430 with Brabus wheels is not a 5.8.
