The Jaguar XK140 was built from 1954 to 1957.
The Drophead Coupe, the most traded version: The XK140 Drophead Coupe represents Jaguar's sweet spot between the raw XK120 and the refined XK150. Introduced in 1954, it featured crucial improvements including rack-and-pinion steering, telescopic shock absorbers, and more interior space thanks to the engine being moved forward three inches. The 3.4-liter XK twin-cam inline-six produced 190 horsepower in standard form, or 210 with the optional C-type head. Only 2,740 Drophead Coupes were built during the three-year run, making it the rarest of the XK140 variants. The convertible's elegant lines, penned by Malcolm Sayer, perfectly balanced sporting intent with grand touring comfort. Today, the XK140 DHC commands serious collector attention as the most usable of the early XK series, offering improved dynamics while retaining the series' unmistakable aesthetic purity and that glorious exhaust note.
