The Ford Bronco 1987-1991 was built from 1987 to 1991.
The Bronco, the most traded version: The late-80s Bronco represents Ford's last hurrah before downsizing to the Bronco II's replacement. Built on the F-150 platform, these full-size SUVs packed serious capability with available 5.0L and 5.8L V8s, plus the torquey 6.9L diesel. The '87-'91 generation refined the formula with improved aerodynamics and fuel injection across the lineup. What makes these special today is their position as the final traditional Broncos before the market shifted toward car-based SUVs. Clean examples are increasingly sought after, especially Eddie Bauer and XLT trims. The removable rear roof section and genuine truck-based construction appeal to collectors who remember when SUVs were actual utility vehicles. Values have been climbing steadily, with low-mileage examples commanding premium prices. These represent authentic American utility before the segment went soft.
