How reviews work

Reviews are written by Shifty members about dealers and auction houses they have dealt with.

  1. Write about your own experience.You bought, sold, shopped, had a car serviced, consigned or bid. Say which.
  2. Stick to what happened.The car, the price, the paperwork, how they answered. Facts help the next buyer most.
  3. Leave people out.No names of staff, phone numbers, emails or links. We hold any review that has them.
  4. One review per dealer.You can edit yours at any time. The latest version is the one that shows.
  5. Be civil.Abuse, threats and slurs are removed. Strong opinions are fine.

What we check

Every review is checked when it is posted. A review with a link, a phone number, an email, abusive words or repeated text waits for a person to read it. So does a review from an account less than a day old.

Verified buyer

A review shows Verified buyer when a car in the member's garage has a VIN we saw for sale at that dealer, or sold at that auction house. We never show the VIN in the review.

Dealers cannot reply or remove reviews

We do not take payment to change, rank or hide a review. A dealer who thinks a review breaks these rules can report it like anyone else.

Reporting a review

Tap Report under any review. Three reports take a review down until a person reads it. We restore it if it follows these rules.
