The Saleen S7 was built from 2000 to 2009.
The S7, the most traded version: The original S7 established Saleen as America's legitimate supercar manufacturer. Phil Frank's dramatic design wrapped around a 7.0-liter Ford Windsor V8 producing 550 hp—serious power for 2000. With just 78 units produced over nine years, exclusivity rivals any European exotic. The steel spaceframe with carbon body panels delivered supercar performance at $395,000, undercutting Ferrari and Lamborghini while matching their capabilities. Hand-built in Irvine, each S7 required months to complete, explaining the tiny production run. Racing pedigree came through successful GT1 campaigns, adding motorsport credibility to street credentials. Today's collectors recognize the S7 as the pinnacle of American supercar achievement from the pre-digital era. Values have appreciated significantly, with clean examples commanding well over original MSRP. The naturally aspirated S7 represents pure, analog supercar experience increasingly rare in modern machinery.
