The Lamborghini Countach LP500 S was built from 1982 to 1985.
The LP500 S, the most traded version: The LP500 S introduced the iconic Countach flares and rear wing that became synonymous with 1980s supercar excess. Despite the name suggesting 5.0 liters, the 4.8-liter V12 produced 375 hp through improved Weber carburetion and higher compression. Gandini's original clean wedge gained muscular wheel arches to accommodate wider Pirelli P7 tires, creating the aggressive stance that defined the Countach image. The 'S' designation marked Lamborghini's response to performance demands while meeting increasingly strict emissions regulations. Production of 321 units over three years makes it moderately rare among Countach variants. The LP500 S strikes an ideal balance between the original's purity and later models' complexity, offering that quintessential 1980s supercar experience without excessive complications. Values reflect its position as the archetypal Countach, combining iconic styling with relatively manageable ownership challenges.
