The Honda Civic 6th Gen (EK) was built from 1996 to 2000.
The Sedan, the most traded version: The sixth-generation Civic sedan represents Honda's evolution from econobox to enthusiast darling, particularly in EK trim. While the base models were reliable commuters, the real treasure lies in the Type R-influenced variants and the platform's legendary tunability. The EK chassis became the foundation for countless builds, sharing DNA with the revered EK9 Type R sold overseas. Under the hood, the B-series engines—especially the VTEC units—delivered Honda's signature high-rev character that defined '90s sport compact culture. These sedans offered four-door practicality with the same lightweight construction and precise handling that made the hatchback famous. Today, clean examples are increasingly sought after as collectors recognize their significance in import tuning history. The combination of Honda reliability, modification potential, and period-correct '90s styling makes survivors particularly desirable, especially unmolested examples that showcase Honda's engineering prowess during their golden era.
