The Ford Bronco 1980-1986 was built from 1980 to 1986.
The Bronco, the most traded version: The early-80s Ford Bronco represents the end of an era for full-size American SUVs. Built on the F-150 platform with a 104-inch wheelbase, these Broncos offered genuine truck capability wrapped in a more civilized package than their predecessors. The 1980-1986 generation featured Ford's 5.0L V8 as the preferred powerplant, delivering respectable performance while maintaining the Bronco's reputation for durability. What makes these particularly appealing to collectors is their position as the last truly rugged Broncos before Ford's shift toward more refined, car-based SUVs. Clean examples are increasingly rare, as most lived hard lives as work trucks or off-road toys. The boxy styling and mechanical simplicity appeal to enthusiasts seeking an authentic 1980s American truck experience. Values have been climbing steadily as collectors recognize these as the final chapter of Ford's original Bronco vision.
