Ferrari revealed the Roma on November 13, 2019, at a client event in Rome. It was a mid-front-engined coupe with 2+ seating. The twin-turbo V8 displaced 3.9 liters and made 620 CV at 7,500 rpm. An eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox came from the SF90 Stradale. Ferrari tied the car to the way of life in Rome in the 1950s. The driver faces a 16-inch digital gauge cluster.
The Roma Spider followed in March 2023. It kept the proportions, volumes and specifications of the coupe and added a fabric soft top. Ferrari said a soft top returned to its front-engined cars 54 years after the 1969 365 GTS4. The roof opens in 13.5 seconds. Extra strengthening added 84 kg to the weight. Ferrari's in-house styling team under Flavio Manzoni designed the Spider.
Later the coupe was dropped, and the Roma was sold only as the Spider. The Ferrari Amalfi replaces the Roma. It comes as a coupe and as an Amalfi Spider.
