The Audi S6 C5 was built from 2000 to 2003.
The S6, the most traded version: The C5-generation S6 represents Audi's bold leap into the high-performance luxury segment, powered by a magnificent 4.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 340 horsepower. This was Audi's answer to the BMW M5 and Mercedes E55 AMG, combining quattro all-wheel drive with sophisticated aluminum space-frame construction borrowed from the A8. The S6's Lamborghini-developed V8 delivered a distinctive soundtrack that modern turbocharged successors simply can't match. Available as both sedan and Avant wagon, the C5 S6 featured Recaro sport seats, 18-inch wheels, and aggressive bodywork that aged remarkably well. Production numbers were relatively low, making clean examples increasingly sought after by collectors who appreciate the last naturally aspirated S6. Values have been climbing steadily as enthusiasts recognize this as the sweet spot between analog driving dynamics and modern refinement—a true sleeper in today's collector market.
