The Audi RS6 C5 was built from 2002 to 2004.
The Avant, the most traded version: The original C5 RS6 Avant launched Audi's super-wagon legacy with a twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 producing 450 horsepower—massive power for 2002. Only 7,000 examples were built worldwide, making it significantly rarer than its successors. This Neckarsulm-assembled beast combined Lamborghini Gallardo engine technology with practical wagon versatility, creating something truly unique in the early 2000s marketplace. The C5's understated exterior hid explosive performance, while the interior featured distinctive carbon fiber trim and Recaro seats. With its combination of rarity, historical significance as the first RS6, and that characterful twin-turbo V8, clean C5 RS6 Avants have become increasingly collectible. The $85,500 original MSRP seems quaint today, as survivors command strong money among enthusiasts seeking the purest RS6 experience.
