The 427, the most traded version: The 427 Cobra remains the ultimate expression of American automotive excess. Ford's 427 big-block V8 produced 425 horsepower in a chassis that weighed barely 2,500 pounds, creating performance that bordered on the uncontrollable. The wider fender flares, necessary to accommodate massive rear tires, gave the 427 its distinctive aggressive appearance.
