About the 2008 Audi RS 6
The C6-generation RS 6 marked Audi's bold return to the super-wagon formula after a four-year hiatus. This beast packed a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V10 derived from Lamborghini's Gallardo, producing 571 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, enough to launch this family hauler to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed Tiptronic handled the power delivery, while adaptive air suspension kept things civilized when hauling cargo. Only sold as an Avant wagon in most markets, the RS 6 represented peak Audi excess before stricter emissions regulations neutered future generations. Production numbers remained relatively low, making clean examples increasingly sought-after among collectors who appreciate the combination of supercar performance and practical versatility. The V10's distinctive soundtrack and brutal acceleration make this the last truly unhinged RS 6, cementing its status as a modern classic in the super-wagon segment.
