About the 1994 Aston Martin DB7 Coupe
The DB7 marked Aston Martin's triumphant return to volume production after years of financial uncertainty. Built on a modified Jaguar XJS platform at the new Bloxham facility, this Ian Callum-designed beauty combined classic Aston proportions with modern reliability. The early cars featured a supercharged 3.2-liter straight-six producing 335 horsepower, later upgraded to a 420-hp V12 in the Vantage variant. With just over 7,000 coupes produced during the initial run, the DB7 successfully bridged Aston's heritage with contemporary performance. Pierce Brosnan's Bond drove one in GoldenEye, cementing its cultural significance. Today, well-maintained examples represent exceptional value in the Aston Martin hierarchy. The supercharged six offers a unique character distinct from the later V12 cars, while the timeless styling has aged remarkably well. Early cars require careful inspection of the supercharger system, but sorted examples deliver genuine grand touring excellence at a fraction of newer Aston prices.
